1. Who We Are

Money Wize Owl is operated by Only Labs (Pty) Ltd ("Only Labs", "we", "us"). We operate a lead generation marketplace connecting South African consumers with businesses offering debt and insurance solutions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information We Collect

From consumers (Leads): First name, last name, phone number, email address, debt amount range, income range, province/location, and service interest (e.g. Debt Review, Insurance). This information is collected via our lead capture forms powered by paid digital advertising campaigns.

From business customers (Buyers): Company name, full name, email address, payment details (processed by Paystack — we do not store raw card data), and purchase history.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, device type, and session data collected automatically for security and analytics purposes.

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

Under POPIA, we process personal information on the following lawful bases:

  • Consent: Consumers explicitly consent to being contacted by a financial services business when submitting their details via our lead capture forms.
  • Legitimate interest: We process Buyer data to fulfil marketplace transactions and prevent fraud.
  • Contractual necessity: Processing is necessary to deliver purchased leads to Buyers and facilitate payment.

4. How Lead Data is Handled

Consumer data is anonymised in the public marketplace. Full personally identifiable information (name, phone, email) is only revealed to a Buyer upon completed, paid purchase. Once delivered, the Buyer assumes full responsibility as an independent responsible party under POPIA for any further processing of that data.

Only Labs does not guarantee the accuracy, currency, or reachability of any lead data and accepts no liability for any consequence arising from a Buyer's use of lead data after delivery.

5. No Guarantee of Data Quality or Conversion

While we take reasonable steps to verify consumer intent at the point of capture, we make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, completeness, or commercial value of any lead. Contact details may become stale, consumers may withdraw consent after submission, and conversion outcomes are the sole responsibility of the Buyer. No refund is issued on this basis.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only:

  • With Buyers, upon their purchase of a specific lead
  • With Paystack, for payment processing
  • With Resend, for transactional email delivery
  • With Supabase, our secure cloud database provider
  • As required by law, court order, or regulatory authority

7. Data Retention

Consumer lead data is retained for as long as it remains commercially active on the marketplace or until a deletion request is received. Buyer account data is retained for seven (7) years for accounting and compliance purposes. Push notification subscriptions are retained until the customer unsubscribes or the subscription expires.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption, row-level security on our database, hashed authentication tokens, and PCI-compliant payment processing. However, no system is 100% secure. Only Labs is not liable for unauthorised access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

9. Your Rights Under POPIA

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information held by us
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Object to the processing of your personal information
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand Platform usage in aggregate. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used without your consent.

11. Push Notifications

If you opt in to push notifications, we store your browser subscription token in our database to deliver notifications about new leads and marketplace updates. You may withdraw consent at any time through your browser settings or dashboard, which will remove your subscription from our system.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
